Berry Plastics Corporation Injection Molding Process Technician in Henderson, Nevada

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all tasks safely and with in all Safety policies and GMP's.

  • Maintain cavitation, cycle efficiency, achieve optimal processing parameters, drive cycle time improvements.

  • Assist with shift supervision and fill-in Group Leader as needed.

  • Drive Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals

  • Review schedule and note any changes to be made during the shift

  • Gather current machine cycle times at the beginning of the shift

  • Respond to any Line Inspector quality issues in a timely manner

  • Monitor all scrap produced and address the problem or discuss with the Group Leader to help eliminate any further scrap.

  • Assist in completion of the efficiency report as needed

  • Insure that all parts produced are within the specifications and of the highest quality. Routine part quality checks throughout the shift

  • Use Work Orders to coordinate molding problems with tooling and machine problems with maintenance in a timely manner

  • Work closely with Quality on needed process changes

  • Perform routine PM cleaning, color changes, purge removal, recycling, breaks - work together as a team for what is needed that day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years experience in plastic injection molding processing.

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have full understanding and experience in Injection Molding.

  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced production environment.

  • Good communication and leadership skills.

  • Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting (up to 35 pounds periodically)

  • Capable of visual acuity to include distinguishing color variation and detecting defects.

  • Able to work safely in a production environment around moving mechanical parts, recognizing various sounds and alarms.

  • Able to work overtime as needed.

  • This is an eight hour night shift position.
