POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Nurse as the Education Coordinator plans, coordinates, and carries out education programs to instruct nursing personnel. Provides comprehensive education in compliance with Standards of Care and Standards of Practice and utilizing all aspects of the nursing process. * Excellent customer service skills. * Must be detail oriented and possess strong analytical and computer skills. * Ability to communicate with patients, physicians, and staff as appropriate. * Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served. * Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify patient requirements relative to his/her age specific needs. * Provides care needed as described in department policies and procedures. * Completes a competency skills checklist within three months of employment.


Education: * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. * Baccalaureate degree or enrollment in degree program with combination of nursing and/or education preferred. Experience: * Minimum of 5 years in acute care and at least 1-year experience in teaching. * Skills in physical assessment, lab data interpretation, technological skills and nursing theory and practice are required. Testing: * Pass National League of Nursing medication test with score of 80% License and Certification: * Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nevada. * BLS and ACLS required.
