SOC Electronics Engineer, Security Systems in Nevada
SOC is recruiting for a an Electronics Engineer, Security Systems for our Nevada location.
Ensures security systems equipment and plans comply with DOE, federal and state regulations. Confirms security system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
Evaluates security systems electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
Identifies and develops SOC Nevada security systems products by studying SOC Nevada security systems requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
Identifies and develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for SOC Nevada security systems components.
Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
Develops and maintains security systems engineering operating budget.
Knowledgeable in Federal and State Laws and Regulations, Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Manuals, Guides, and Standards, SOC Nevada procedures, all SOC Nevada site security procedures and policies to include extensive knowledge of the Site Security Plan requirements as they relate to Security Systems utilized to protect Special Nuclear Material, Classified Material, and DOE/NNSA facilities
Federal and State Laws and Regulations, Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Manuals, Guides, and Standards and SOC policies, procedures, and order
In depth knowledge of and skilled in complex security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
Intermediate-level computer skills that include all the Microsoft Office Suite of and Engineering related software
Knowledge and skilled in complex alarm management systems, interior and exterior intrusion detection systems, video assessment and surveillance systems, auxiliary power and lighting systems, access control and denial systems, and wired/wireless command and control centers and a complete understanding and broad application of cyber security, technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts in the field of security systems. Requires general knowledge of other related disciplines and/or functions. Experience with Argus and Pecos security systems is preferred.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Prefer a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Nevada
Five (5) years of experience in Electrical Engineering Field. Experience and training in engineering management, configuration management, systems engineering, cyber security, and assessments is desired
Successful participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
Valid US Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Nevada Driver’s License
DOE “Q” clearance authorization
