The Position

Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

This position is with the Department of Agriculture, Administration Division, Fiscal Unit and is responsible for preparing and managing all Department contracts and sub-grants; conducting financial analysis for program functions and analyzing cost estimates for contract requirements associated with the approved budget; managing Non Executive Budgets, to include creating work programs, preparation of biennial budgets and estimating future expenditure levels; assisting Divisions with grant proposals and monitoring the financial budgets associated with grants to ensure program compliance, and includes preparation of Federal draws and ensuring compliance with Federal reporting requirements.

To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.

Special Notes

Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 6 years of experience, 2 years of paraprofessional experience and 4 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.

Special Requirements

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
